A classical guitar concert by Petar Čulić will take place at St. Nicholas Church in the center of Baška Voda on Friday, September 26, 2025, starting at 8:30 PM.

Petar Čulić is a distinguished Croatian classical guitarist, composer, and pedagogue of high international acclaim.

He was born on June 26, 1986, in Split. He began studying guitar at the age of eight and pursued his musical education through Omiš, Split, and the Arts Academy in Split. He earned his master’s degree in 2008 and continued his postgraduate studies in Germany at the Koblenz International Guitar Academy under Professor Hubert Käppel, graduating with the highest marks (1.0) and the title of concert soloist.

He has been performing solo concerts since the age of 12 and has given over a thousand performances across six continents in more than 30 countries, including Washington, Sydney, London, Paris, New York, Rio de Janeiro, and Doha.

He has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Rheinische Philharmonie, the National Symphony Orchestra Claudio Santoro in Brasília, Camerata Antiqua de Curitiba, the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra, and the orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre in Split.

Čulić has won more than 30 first prizes at national and international competitions, including open-age category victories at Gitarrenfestival Gevelsberg, Winter Guitar Festival, and Nikšić Guitar Fest. He is the only Croatian to win at the 10th anniversary of the Omiš Guitar Fest (2013).

His projects have earned him international recognition: no fewer than 11 world-renowned composers have dedicated works to him (premiered at the 2020 Omiš Guitar Fest), and French composer Colette Mourey dedicated three solo pieces titled “Hommage à Petar Čulić.”

As an educator, he has achieved outstanding results—teaching in music schools in Omiš, Split, and Makarska, his students have won over 250 prizes in various competitions. He has received numerous local and regional awards for his pedagogical work.

He was a member of the Croatian jury for the international TV competition Virtuosos V4+, where he joined maestro Plácido Domingo in selecting the Croatian finalist. The show reached an audience of over 70 million viewers.
