The olives stone mill dates from the 18th century. This monument to the traditional processing of olives and the production of olive oil represents a symbol of hard life of the local population who toiled away on the land for centuries. Until the appearance of grape diseased such as phylloxera and downy mildew in the late 19th and the early 20th century, this area had been prosperous agriculturally, with a focus on the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards. In the period from 1900 to 1933, the plots with vineyards and olive trees have decreased twice in size. The late 20th and the early 21st century see a renewal of olive groves and vineyards: one of the largest vinyards in Croatia is situated northwest of Promajna.
