Nikolina Beach is the main beach in Baška Voda, named after the patron saint of the village, St. Nicholas the Traveler, whose statue is situated on the pier that separates the beach from the port. As a highly valuable tourist motive, it was recognized as early as in the beginning of the 20th century. Its systematic decoration started in the 1930s when the newly established Town Embellishment Society planted a line of pine trees along the beach. Since 2006 Nikolina Beach boasts with the Blue Flag, a valuable international environmental quality mark, and in 2008 the beach has received the most valuable national tourist award, the Blue Flower, as the best decorated and kept beach on the Croatian Adriatic. The view from the webcam at the Nikolina Beach in 2014 was proclaimed one of the most beautiful in the world, and in 2015 – in the selection of Daily Mail – the beach was ranked among 10 most attractive beaches in the Mediterranean.
